Day 54 – Cruise (PP)

Standard

Sweeet, back to the lowest weight….88.9, and back to having lost 10kg! It is very true, that if you have a transgression from the Dukan Diet, you will recover…it just sets your final goal weight back a while. So if you do veer from the diet, don’t worry…if you get back on the wagon everything will be ok.

Something very interesting I found out about Oat Bran today…..apparently you need 30g per day – not just 2 tbsp (in Aus, a standard level tbsp gives you approximately 10g of Oat Bran!) So from now on I will be having 3 level tbsp of Oat Bran everyday, and I’m not complaining! Now that I have started making lots of new Oat Bran recipes, it’s hard to decide which Oat Bran to eat 🙂 It is a bit concerning that I (and most likely many others) have not been getting the required amount of Oat Bran in their daily diet.

Breakfast: 2 Vanilla Moist Cake Muffins….my new favourite!

Snack: Nestle ForMe Peach and Mango Yoghurt & Diet Raspberry Jelly

Lunch: Dukan Bread with Cottage Cheese and 2 small slices of Smoked Trout

Snack: 2 Double D Sugar Free Lollies

Dinner: Porterhouse Steak with Dijon Mustard

Dessert: Tam’s Custard Recipe…yum! (probably ate too much!)

Drinks: 2.4L Water, 1 can ang 1 glass Coke Zero

Exercise: 25 minute Walk/Run 🙂

  1. Glad you enjoyed the custard here’s the choc oat bran muffins
    4tbsp oat bran
    2 tbsp wheat bran
    3 tbsp skim milk powder
    3tbsp sweetner
    3tbsp cocoa
    3egg whites
    1egg yolk
    1tsp baking powder
    200ml skim milk

Seperate eggs. I use left over yolks custard
    Whip whites in one bowl
Mix everything else in another bowl
    Fold in egg whites
    Spoon into muffin tin
Cook on 200 degrees for 15-20min until golden.

    Makes 12 yum yum

  2. Hi Lauren

30g of Oatbran a day?? Really?? In the book, it only mentions 2 tablespoons and it says not to exceed that ??

I can eat wheat (intolerant) do you suppose I can make the Dukan Bread with just oatbran?

    Thanks!

    Yee-Shin

    • Yee-Shin, the information came from the Dukan Live Chat. I think if you go to the official website you will be able to read the transcript (from Dr. Dukan himself). There has been a lot of discussion on the Australian Dukan Facebook Page about the topic.

    • Hi Yee-Shin,
The wheat bran is mainly chaff.
I too was weary of the wheat bran in the Dukan baked goods recipes (I have also had wheat intolerant symptoms in the past) but when I was eventually brave enough to look at it, I had to buy it! I saw that it is just over 45% fibre and has less carbs than oat bran, but is not a soluble fibre (which deals with cholesterol in the gut)…It also speeds up ‘digestive transit’, giving the body less time to absorb much of the containing food and eliminating any possible constipation. Per 100g each, the values are:

Component: carbs; protein; fibre; fat; Sat fat; salt.
      100g oat bran: 48.7g; 14.8g; 15.2g; 9.7g; 1.6g; trace.
      100g wheat bran: 21.7g; 13g; 45.8g; 3.9g; 0.7g; trace.

So unless you are wheat intolerant (I mean Epi-pen type) it is best to follow the recipe.
But please speak to your doctor first.

      • Thank you! I’m VERY much wheat intolerant, makes me very sick so I’m going to try it with just oat bran and fingers crossed that it works…

Not really missing bread though, just cake!!
