Breakfast Sausage Recipe

Something that I used to looove to eat, sadly, was McDonalds Sausage McMuffins. I did some research on the net to try and get a recipe that would imitate the sausage (my fave part).

Apparently the recipe is called Breakfast Sausage, and I found a recipe for it at Homesick Texan. I loved looking around this blog and seeing all of the gorgeous pictures (food porn 😛 ). I saw a couple of other things that I would like to try and cook Dukan style. Do you see anything you like?

I halved the recipe quantities to make some for my lunch today, and no doubt breakfast tomorrow!

(Pork is not allowed on Attack….so sorry all you Attack-ers out there! Not long to wait though 🙂 )

Breakfast Sausage Recipe

Suitable for Cruise PP/PV

Makes 8 small sausage patties

500g Heart Smart Pork Mince

1/2 tablespoon of sage

1 teaspoon of marjoram

1 teaspoon of thyme

1 teaspoons of chilli flakes (all seeds painstakingly removed – didn’t want them too hot)

1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper

1/2 teaspoon of sweetener

1/4 teaspoon of salt

1/4 teaspoon of black pepper

1. Mix all ingredients together very well…you will have to use your hand for the best result.

2. Spray a non-stick pan with Olive Oil and wipe away excess with paper towel.

3. Form mince into patties and fry on each side.

4. Place cooked patties onto paper towel to squish out any extra oiliness.

5. Enjoy!

  1. Hi, I have just found your blog because I am on the Dukan diet now for 6 weeks and I love Japan.

    I believe you can’t eat pork in the Dukan diet not in PP and not in PV.

    • Lauren, Thanks for your great blog! The Dukan Diet was just introduced in the United States last month so there is little information available in the States. Your success, advice, and recipes are encouraging and helping!

      As for pork, the version of the book just published in the States allows pork during all phases of the diet, including the attack phase, provided that it is lean. Page 44 of the U.S. edition states (in the list of allowable lean meats for the attack phase): “Pork: Lean cuts are permitted, such as tenderloin, loin meat, or well-trimmed center-cut chops.” Hope this helps.

  2. I started the dukan on Tues and it I just had my weighin sat morning and I have been eating pork steaks. I thought you could eat lean meats. Anyhow it is what I had on hand and I am down 7.8 pounds and today is my last day on attack. So I am hoping to hit an eight pound weight loss by tomorrows weigh in. So with my experience pork is ok.
