A bit of before and after…

Standard

Me before starting Dukan, actually about 3 months prior. Brad says this is a bad example of a before photo because I never really looked that big (just the perspective of the photo). Taken the same day as my profile pic on the blog.

OMG did I actually look like that?? 😦 (ignore the drunk eyes….it was a vodka party!) No wonder people are seeing a difference!

9 weeks after starting Dukan…(bad quality image, and I don’t really see too much difference)

And me a couple of weeks ago…(taken at night on my iMac…that’s why it looks so crappy! Eliminates all elements of a chin!)

Me and Brad at the wedding a couple of weekends ago…

Tofu Pancakes

Standard

If you really don’t feel like an oatbran galette, or have used your Oat Bran quota for the day, try these pancakes, oh so yum!

I found the recipe at minimins, a weight loss forum.

Dukan Tofu Pancake Recipe

Suitable for Cruise PP/PV

Makes 1 decent sized pancake

1 Egg

1 tbsp Skim Milk Powder

2 tbsp Silken Tofu

1 tsp Sweetener

Tiny amount Vanilla Bean Paste (you could use Vanilla Extract)

1. Spray small fry pan with Olive Oil and wipe away excess with paper towel.

2. Whisk Egg in a small bowl using a fork.

3. Add all other ingredients, mashing up Tofu as best you can, mixing well.

4. Cook over a medium heat in fry pan until bubbles appear. Flip.

5. Cook for a few moments on the other side.

6. Enjoy!

  • I didn’t serve it with anything extra, as it was super yummy by itself!

Breakfast Sausage Recipe

Standard

Something that I used to looove to eat, sadly, was McDonalds Sausage McMuffins. I did some research on the net to try and get a recipe that would imitate the sausage (my fave part).

Apparently the recipe is called Breakfast Sausage, and I found a recipe for it at Homesick Texan. I loved looking around this blog and seeing all of the gorgeous pictures (food porn 😛 ). I saw a couple of other things that I would like to try and cook Dukan style. Do you see anything you like?

I halved the recipe quantities to make some for my lunch today, and no doubt breakfast tomorrow!

(Pork is not allowed on Attack….so sorry all you Attack-ers out there! Not long to wait though 🙂 )

Breakfast Sausage Recipe

Suitable for Cruise PP/PV

Makes 8 small sausage patties

500g Heart Smart Pork Mince

1/2 tablespoon of sage

1 teaspoon of marjoram

1 teaspoon of thyme

1 teaspoons of chilli flakes (all seeds painstakingly removed – didn’t want them too hot)

1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper

1/2 teaspoon of sweetener

1/4 teaspoon of salt

1/4 teaspoon of black pepper

1. Mix all ingredients together very well…you will have to use your hand for the best result.

2. Spray a non-stick pan with Olive Oil and wipe away excess with paper towel.

3. Form mince into patties and fry on each side.

4. Place cooked patties onto paper towel to squish out any extra oiliness.

5. Enjoy!

Cheese

Standard

Prior to starting Dukan, I was a cheese on cheese girl. Any type you can suggest, I would already have loved it or be willing to give it a go. Let me just say, I miss cheese.

Today I tried a new cheese (only half a slice) to mix in with my scrambled eggs at lunch, and I must say it was absolutely yummy!! Kraft Singles Free.

As with other cheese, it has to be a tolerated food, although this cheese has hardly any fat, it does have carbs (sugar), but only slightly more than the flavoured cottage cheeses I have been eating.

The Nutritional Information:

Energy 136 kJ per slice / 665 per 100g

Protein 5g per slice / 24g per 100g

Fat – Total <1g per slice / 2.2g per 100g

Carbohydrate 2.0g per slice / 10.1g per 100g

Considering I only ate half a slice, I think that’s a pretty nice treat!!

Day 112 – Cruise (PP)

Standard

Thank goodness I lost the 0.4 today, so I had some kind of semi-respectable weight loss for the week!

I did a HUGE shop today and bought lots of Dukan friendly foods, and some sneaky tolerated ones as well, just to mix things up a bit. Variety is the spice of life!

I’m going to a party tonight of a good friend who is starting Dukan tomorrow! There might even be Dukan Friendly Foods there….who would have thought!?! Dukaneers taking over the world, one teensy step at a time! Happy Birthday Sarah!

Breakfast: Yoplait ForMe Banana and Honey Yoghurt

Snack: Weight Watchers Dark Chocolate Dessert (The sneaky tolerated I was speaking of! Definitely not an everyday food I nearly went into a sugar coma!)

Late Lunch: ‘Breakfast Sausage’ …recipe to come…with scrambled eggs made with 2 eggs, skim milk and 1/2 slice Kraft Singles ‘Free’ Cheese

Dinner: 1 Tofu Pancake

Snacks: Sliced Ham, Pickled Onions, Gherkins & 2 slices Salami

Drinks: 2L Water & Coke Zero

Exercise: Nothing 😦

So to achieve my next goal deadline, which is one week from today, I need to lose 1.4 kg, I think that might be manageable as I’ve had a relatively little loss this week.

Day 109 – Cruise (PV)

Standard

Back down to 79.3 today…I’m happy it’s down, but Im getting a bit over the up and down-ness of the scales.

Right now with having so much on my plate my eating and diet is not on the top of my list of priorities, lpmisslp is right in her comment, it’s hard to juggle work, school, home, diet 😦
Unfortunately tonight I got home late and I just wanted to eat, and of course if you want something for convenience…it will not be Dukan friendly. I had grilled fish and chips….my first since starting Dukan 😦 It made me feel so satisfied though (I’m a bit ashamed to say)….I’m not really a model Dukaneer at the moment 😦 I hope tomorrow’s weigh in is not too dramatic!

Breakfast: Oat Bran Porridge

Second Breakfast: Very low fat flavoured milk (still too high in carbs-sugar though)

Snack: Sliced Chicken Breast and Onion & Chive Cottage Cheese

Lunch: Leafy Green Salad with a small amount Chicken Breast

Dinner: Grilled Salmon and some Chips

Snack: Chocolate ^o^

Drinks: Approx 1.5L Water & 2 cans Coke Zero

Exercise: Nothing

Lauren.

SW: 99    CW: 79.3

Day 108 – Cruise (PV)

Standard

Back up 100g on the scales this morning, 79.7, that doesn’t usually happen to me, so I’m not sure what it means.

Again, a ridiculously busy day. I only have 5 more nights of night school left for the year (over 4 weeks) and they are either exams or presentations, and the last one is handing all of our work in. It is a very stressful time for me as I have so much to do, and as fate would have it all of my night school work is due at exactly the same time as my reports are due at school 😦

Breakfast: Oat Bran Porridge

Early Lunch: Sliced Chicken Breast and Ham with plain Cottage Cheese and 2 Gherkins

Dinner: Teryaki Chicken with Salad Greens and Broccoli

Drinks: Can of Sugar Free V, 2 cans Coke Zero & approx 2L Water

Exercise: Nothing
