Dukan 2.0 โ€“ Attack Day 4

sick sick sick today ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

short post before I go to bed.

Here’s what I ate, can’t remember if it’s in this order…

Yoghurt
Jelly
50g Chicken Breast
1 Babybel Light
few tbsp Cottage Cheese
4 small slices Roast Beef with Dijon Mustard

No oatbran today ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

To drink I had LOTS of Coke Zero, about 1L water and a cup of tea.

Tonight we went out for dinner to a really nice restaurant for my father in laws 60th birthday. Because I was feeling sick and feel like rubbish I had every intention to eat some veggies or some potato…whatever I decided.
In the end I (along with 3 others) ordered a mixed grill. It had lamb, beef, chicken breast and bacon….and a TON of potato wedges, sour cream and some veggies, we ordered the sauce on the side, which was like a mushroom gravy. Guess what I ate?? Lamb, beef, chicken breast, bacon & a few spoonfuls of mushroom gravy ๐Ÿ™‚ I am so proud of myself ๐Ÿ˜€ Mind you I probably ate 450g meat >.< so I was very full and didn’t NEED to eat anything else.
When it was time for the birthday cake for a moment I thought I would have some cake because I didn’t really break Dukan at all. My brothers girlfriend took my spoon away so that made up my mind…no cake! *I got high 5’s and hugs ๐Ÿ˜€ Thanks team, you rock xo* Instead I had a skinny weak cappuccino with sweetener, it was dessert enough, and very yummy.

Guess what?? The bacon had some fat in it and before we had left the restaurant I already had to go to the bathroom. After only 4 days of Dukan and my body is already rejecting fat…go body! (Not so much fun but hey, it’s good to know I’m already getting healthier).

Oh, this morning I weighed 91.3, so I only lost 200g overnight, but thats 1.7kg in 3 days, so that’s great ๐Ÿ™‚

Dukan 2.0 – Attack Day 3

I had a little scare this morning on the scales….they were the same! A bit of fiddling and adjusting later and they actually read 91.5 ๐Ÿ™‚ So that’s a loss of 700g since yesterday…1.5kg in total after 2 days of attack ๐Ÿ˜€ I think for my attack phase I would like to at least get under 90kg (which should hopefully be achievable).

Some exciting news for me…which I didn’t get a chance to write about last night was… I have started back teaching in Australia as a CRT (Casual Relief Teacher) and had my first day yesterday and second today. Yesterday I had a grade 3/4 class all day and today I taught !PE! to grade 1 and grade 2 students. Both days have been so much fun but I am utterly exhausted. Also, I have a very SORE throat either from being sick or using my voice so much…not really sure yet. Do you have any Dukan friendly remedies that can help me with this?? please ^.^?? I am supposed to be covering the teachers for when they are sick, not getting sick myself!

I haven’t been as hungry today, which is awesome…I guess coz I’ve been so busy >.< I’m wondering if I should have a bigger breakfast as I normally eat my porridge at 7am and I am HUNGRY at some point between 9 and 10…or is this normal for you too? It’s just impossible to eat when I’m working as recess isn’t till 11am, or at the school I was at today, it wasn’t till 11:30!

Breakfast: Oat bran porridge with skim milk and 1/2 tsp sweetener

Lunch:ย ForMe yoghurt, Diet Jelly, 50g Ham & 50g Pastrami

Snack: Diced Chicken Breast

Snack:ย ForMe Yoghurt

Snack: Cup of tea with a Baked Oat Bran Cookie…..ZOMG winning! I was so content after this ^_^ (ooops I went 1 tbsp of Oatbran over for the day…hope that’s not so bad but I really need the fibre)

Dinner:ย Most likely will be Stuffed Chicken Breast, Chicken Tenderloin cooked with Dijon Mustard

Drinks: Nearly 2L water and 1 can Diet Coke

Exercise: I was a PE teacher today…so there ๐Ÿ˜‰

I’m going to do some cooking tonight…like every night for the past week >.<…and I saw this recipe for Baked Oat Bran Cookies from Vicki at Dukan Blogging. I can’t wait to give them a try ๐Ÿ˜€ (I might just sneak one but it will take me a touch over my Oat Bran allowance for today…still Dukan though ๐Ÿ˜€ )
I will also be making mini quiches (my silicone ย muffin tray only makes 6 at a time) and more Moroccan Spiced Turkey Burgers (It’s been a while since I’ve done a decent recipe with photos for you but I promise I will make it soon ๐Ÿ™‚ )

I watched some interesting videos about the Dukan Diet hereย that Little Miss Contrary linked to. She has lots of links to info about the Dukan Diet, you should check them out ^_^

Dukan 2.0 – Attack Day 1

Woohoo! I’m so excited ๐Ÿ˜€ Ok, maybe not for the scales, which this morning weighed 93.0kg. It’s ok, what counts is what they weigh tomorrow.

Last night, as sleepy as we were, we managed to cook everything we wanted to in preparation for today and tomorrow, so that makes life easier for sure.

I will be doing 6 days of Attack this time around in Dukan v 2.0. (Please note this is just my quirky way of saying it’s my second time around doing the Dukan Diet…not that I am doing the ‘Holiday’ Dukan diet that I have just started to hear about.) This video clip is the first info I have on that ‘version’ of the Diet, and here is a Daily Mail article. What do you think?? I plan on sticking to the original Dukan Diet which I know works for me.

Here’s what I ate on my first day of attack. If you are just starting, you could eat something similar….

Breakfast:ย Oat Bran Porridge made with 1 1/2 tbsp Oat Bran, Skim Milk and 1/2 tsp Sweetener

Snack:ย Yoplait ForMe Cheesecake Flavoured Yoghurt

Lunch:ย 3 small Beef Rissoles, 1 muffin sized quiche & Diet Jelly

Snack:ย small amount of Beef Jerky

Dinner:ย Porterhouse steak seasoned with Onion Powder, Garlic Powder & Black Pepper, served with Dijon Mustard….Winning!

Snack:ย 3 small Beef Rissoles & Diet Jelly

Snack: Yoplait ForMe Yoghurt & Beef Jerky

Drinks:ย Approx 2L Water & 2 glasses Coke Zero

Exercise:ย 25 minute walk

All day I have been hungry and thirsty!?! It is very wierd. I remember protein being much more filling last time… So much so that we have eaten all our lunch food for tomorrow and now I have to cook again! >_< Oh well

One more sleep

I have only one more sleep till I get to start the Dukan Diet ๐Ÿ™‚ That is so exciting for me because I can’t wait to see that weight start falling off again.

I was planning on doing some cooking ย in preparation today, but unfortunately I haven’t used my time very wisely and will have to do it when I get home tonight after dinner at my parents house. This will definitely be my last supper ๐Ÿ˜›

Tonight I hope to make some diet jelly, beef rissoles and mini quiches (thanks Charlotte ๐Ÿ˜› ) in preparation for the first Attack day. Hopefully I can get it all done, I hate cooking when I’m tired ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Day 142 – Cruise (PP)

A very interesting morning on the scales, after a number of different times, I weighed 73.1!!! I am more confused than excited ^.^?? My scales are normally very reliable, so I don’t know what’s going on. I don’t even know if it’s physically possible to drop 3kg in one day?

When I got home from work I weighed myself again, and after a day of eating and drinking lots I was up to 74 (a regular jump for me at the end of the day)…and still 2kg less than I weighed yesterday morning. I don’t know what’s going on and I’m very curious as to what I weigh tomorrow morning.

Breakfast: Oat Bran Porridge

Snack: Diet Jelly & Yoplait ForMe Fruit Yoghurt

Lunch: Beef Jerky (whoops, I ate the whole thing!), Pastrami and Chicken Breast

Snack: Silverside

Dinner: Roast Chicken (lots ๐Ÿ˜ฆ it was an easy dinner)

Drinks: LOTS of water (more than 3L I would imagine) and quite a bit of Coke Zero too.

Exercise: 30 minute walk on Mum’s treadmill ๐Ÿ™‚ (maybe it’s the regular exercise that I’ve been doing??)

Day 141 – Cruise (PV)

Phew…a super busy morning cleaning my house ready for a Lingerie/Clothing party I had here this afternoon.

Thank goodness my friends arrived a little early they helped me prepare all of the food. I had it so there was a big platter of meats and a big platter of veggies, then there was some tim tams and lollies and fresh strawberries and chips and crackers. All of the healthy food got eaten (but so did the lollies and tim tams ๐Ÿ˜› ), and crackers that were left over I sent home with my brother’s girlfriend, no need to leave them around the house. Wasn’t even tempted to eat the non-desireables ๐Ÿ™‚

On a sad note, the scales revisited 76.0kg today (100g up from yesterday), not quite sure why as I did everything I was supposed to yesterday. I have a feeling my ‘bouncing’ has begun, thanks for the heads up Tam ๐Ÿ™‚

Not going to list what I ate today, as it was all Dukan friendly meats or vegetables, with some diet jelly, yoghurt and cottage cheese thrown in for good measure.

Heading over to mums now to borrow some treadmill time! 30 minutes to be precise.

Hope to see some scale movement in the right direction tomorrow morning ๐Ÿ™‚

Day 140 – Cruise (PV)

Another giant loss today (which is really yesterday coz I got home too late after the Metallica concert to post!) 75.9…my first time in the 75’s yet, it’s a fun place to be ๐Ÿ™‚

A quick rundown of what I ate:

Breakfast: 1 Chocolate Oatbran Muffin & 1 tub Nestle Yoghurt

Snack: 3 Sugar Free Lollies

Lunch: Left over Savoury Beef Mince

Dinner: Sliced Chicken Breast, Slice Turkey Breast & Gherkin Cottage Cheese

Snack: 1 Chocolate Oat Bran Muffin

Drinks: 2L Water & a few glasses of Coke Zero

Exercise: 30 minute walk on mum’s treadmill, 20 minutes of walking to and from the concert to parking & 2 hours of standing and rocking at Metallica >)

Day 139 – Cruise (PV)

Woohoo! 76.6kg today, three losses three days in a row ๐Ÿ˜€ I wonder how long I can keep this up?

I allowed myself to get hungry today, but on reflection it was probably more that I didn’t drink enough water during the day….so I had to make up for it in the evening.

Here’s what I ate today…

Breakfast: Skinny Weak Caramel Cappuccino from Gloria Jeans

Snack: Nestle Apricot Yoghurt

Lunch: Small Roasted Chicken Breast

Snack: 1 sugar free Lolly and Diet Jelly

Dinner: Savoury Mince

Snack: 2 Chocolate Oatbran Muffins & 1 sugar free Lolly

Drinks: 2L Water & a couple of glasses of Coke Zero

Exercise: 30 minutes on my Mum’s treadmill and about an hour of walking around a fete ๐Ÿ™‚

One Pot Savoury Mince Recipe

I had some Heart Smart Beef Mince in the fridge, that was destined to become meatballs…but the thought of rolling them all made my lazy side say meh. So instead I looked around for a savoury mince recipe to cook in the slow cooker, and pinched a few ingredients from this one and that…by the time I got around to cooking it I didn’t have enough time for the slow cooker, just cooked it on the stove top in my favourite casserole dish and it turned out quite yummy.

Here’s the recipe I came up with…

One Pot Savoury Mince Recipe

Makes 3 decent Serves

Suitable for Cruise PV

(sorry about the bad pic…iPhone)

Ingredients

1/2 tsp Oil

500g Heart Smart Beef Mince

1 stick Celery, finely chopped

1 small Onion, finely chopped

1 small Green Capsicum, finely chopped

1 clove Garlic, finely chopped

1 tbsp Soy Sauce

1 tbsp White Vinegar

1 tsp Sweetener

1 tsp Dijon Mustard

1/2 tsp Chilli Powder

1 cup Beef Stock

2 tbsp Tomato Paste

Freshly Cracked Black Pepper

1. Heat the oil in a heavy bottomed pan. Add the beef mince and brown.

2. Empty the beef into a strainer and get most of the excess oil out of the pan.

3. Into the same pan, add the garlic, onion, capsicum and celery. Cook vegetables until softened.

4. Return beef mince to the pan and add all other ingredients.

5. Simmer covered over the lowest heat, stirring occasionally.

Enjoy!

  • I let mine cook for about 15 minutes once all the ingredients were in. Just double check that the liquid has not run out…if it looks like it might, add a little bit more. Or, if it looks like there’s too much, leave the lid off and turn the heat up a touch to let it evaporate.
  • As always with a dish like this, use what is already in your cupboard in terms of condiments. Don’t have soy sauce? Use worcestershire instead (I just really need to buy some)
  • You could very well cook this in the slow cooker from step 4 onwards…just pop it on in the morning and leave it on Auto for 6-7 hours.

138 – Cruise (PP)

Yay 77.2kg today (another 0.5kg lost overnight). The lowest I have been since starting Dukan was 76.9…hope I get back there really soon ๐Ÿ™‚

Feeling really skinny today ๐Ÿ™‚ My skinny jeans are no longer called that because they stick to my legs….but because I’m getting too skinny for them! (that is the size 14 pair if you were wondering!)

We are going to see Harry Potter 7 Part 1 tonight! Awesome! I love Hermione…I used to call her Her-Me-Own until I read book 4 and she had to correct Viktor Krum when he pronounced her name wrong! (like me!) funny ๐Ÿ™‚

And to my brother Mark: I will not be 30 by the time the last HP comes out (I will be 27 in fact), and you are still coming with me ๐Ÿ™‚
