Cruise Day 8 – Catch Up

Standard

Hello there! Sorry for there absence, thanks for keeping on popping by 😀

Let me fill you in with how I’ve been going the last couple of days…

Firstly I’m sure you’re most curious about my weight, here’s what I’ve weighed over the past week since I started the diet…
Monday: 93
Tuesday: 92.2
Wednesday: 91.5
Thursday: 91.4
Friday: 91.4
Saturday: 91.2
Sunday: 91.1
and today Monday: 90.4
….so a total of 2.6kg in the first week.

In terms of what I’ve eaten…

: Attack didn’t last as long as planned purely because I needed some vegetables and fibre *you know what I mean*. So I only did it for 5 days and then Saturday and Sunday I had a PV day.

: On the weekend I didn’t eat strictly Dukan, but I still lost weight. I found myself in some situations where I had NO Dukan choice so I chose the best I could which included some carbs.

: For dinner last night we went to my brothers house and his girlfriend made us a lovely dukanified version of the dinner which was great.

: I’ve had a couple of skinny cow ice creams along the way which have been GREAT…Mint-Choc flavour….yum! They are real craving crushers.

: I ordered and received some Miracle Noodles online and have cooked them twice to make a creamy seafood pasta with Garlic, Onion, Seafood Sticks, Skim Milk, Extra Light Philadelphia Cream Cheese and Miracle Noodles. Can’t wait to try them with maybe a Chicken & Bacon Carbonara, mmmmm yum!

: Today I’m having a PP day and I’ve found that protein is much more filling now than when I started the DD again.

I hope everyone had a great weekend and is doing well with their diets or otherwise 😀

Dukan 2.0 – Attack Day 4

Standard

sick sick sick today 😦

short post before I go to bed.

Here’s what I ate, can’t remember if it’s in this order…

Yoghurt
Jelly
50g Chicken Breast
1 Babybel Light
few tbsp Cottage Cheese
4 small slices Roast Beef with Dijon Mustard

No oatbran today 😦

To drink I had LOTS of Coke Zero, about 1L water and a cup of tea.

Tonight we went out for dinner to a really nice restaurant for my father in laws 60th birthday. Because I was feeling sick and feel like rubbish I had every intention to eat some veggies or some potato…whatever I decided.
In the end I (along with 3 others) ordered a mixed grill. It had lamb, beef, chicken breast and bacon….and a TON of potato wedges, sour cream and some veggies, we ordered the sauce on the side, which was like a mushroom gravy. Guess what I ate?? Lamb, beef, chicken breast, bacon & a few spoonfuls of mushroom gravy 🙂 I am so proud of myself 😀 Mind you I probably ate 450g meat >.< so I was very full and didn’t NEED to eat anything else.
When it was time for the birthday cake for a moment I thought I would have some cake because I didn’t really break Dukan at all. My brothers girlfriend took my spoon away so that made up my mind…no cake! *I got high 5’s and hugs 😀 Thanks team, you rock xo* Instead I had a skinny weak cappuccino with sweetener, it was dessert enough, and very yummy.

Guess what?? The bacon had some fat in it and before we had left the restaurant I already had to go to the bathroom. After only 4 days of Dukan and my body is already rejecting fat…go body! (Not so much fun but hey, it’s good to know I’m already getting healthier).

Oh, this morning I weighed 91.3, so I only lost 200g overnight, but thats 1.7kg in 3 days, so that’s great 🙂

Dukan 2.0 – Attack Day 3

Standard

I had a little scare this morning on the scales….they were the same! A bit of fiddling and adjusting later and they actually read 91.5 🙂 So that’s a loss of 700g since yesterday…1.5kg in total after 2 days of attack 😀 I think for my attack phase I would like to at least get under 90kg (which should hopefully be achievable).

Some exciting news for me…which I didn’t get a chance to write about last night was… I have started back teaching in Australia as a CRT (Casual Relief Teacher) and had my first day yesterday and second today. Yesterday I had a grade 3/4 class all day and today I taught !PE! to grade 1 and grade 2 students. Both days have been so much fun but I am utterly exhausted. Also, I have a very SORE throat either from being sick or using my voice so much…not really sure yet. Do you have any Dukan friendly remedies that can help me with this?? please ^.^?? I am supposed to be covering the teachers for when they are sick, not getting sick myself!

I haven’t been as hungry today, which is awesome…I guess coz I’ve been so busy >.< I’m wondering if I should have a bigger breakfast as I normally eat my porridge at 7am and I am HUNGRY at some point between 9 and 10…or is this normal for you too? It’s just impossible to eat when I’m working as recess isn’t till 11am, or at the school I was at today, it wasn’t till 11:30!

Breakfast: Oat bran porridge with skim milk and 1/2 tsp sweetener

Lunch: ForMe yoghurt, Diet Jelly, 50g Ham & 50g Pastrami

Snack: Diced Chicken Breast

Snack: ForMe Yoghurt

Snack: Cup of tea with a Baked Oat Bran Cookie…..ZOMG winning! I was so content after this ^_^ (ooops I went 1 tbsp of Oatbran over for the day…hope that’s not so bad but I really need the fibre)

Dinner: Most likely will be Stuffed Chicken Breast, Chicken Tenderloin cooked with Dijon Mustard

Drinks: Nearly 2L water and 1 can Diet Coke

Exercise: I was a PE teacher today…so there 😉

I’m going to do some cooking tonight…like every night for the past week >.<…and I saw this recipe for Baked Oat Bran Cookies from Vicki at Dukan Blogging. I can’t wait to give them a try 😀 (I might just sneak one but it will take me a touch over my Oat Bran allowance for today…still Dukan though 😀 )
I will also be making mini quiches (my silicone  muffin tray only makes 6 at a time) and more Moroccan Spiced Turkey Burgers (It’s been a while since I’ve done a decent recipe with photos for you but I promise I will make it soon 🙂 )

I watched some interesting videos about the Dukan Diet here that Little Miss Contrary linked to. She has lots of links to info about the Dukan Diet, you should check them out ^_^

I apologize for the super mega long post today (but I guess it makes up for yesterday 😉 )

Dukan 2.0 – Attack Day 2

I’m typing this from my phone, and it’s very fiddly so I apologize for the briefness. 800g down this morning after one day of attack 🙂 I was hoping for a kilo (but I guess that’s just a bit cheeky).

Breakfast: oat bran porridge

Snack: yoghurt, jelly, turkey slices, cottage cheese & a gherkin

Lunch: 2 Moroccan spiced turkey burgers & 1 mini quiche

Snack: beef jerky, yoghurt, jelly

Dinner: 3 Moroccan spiced turkey burgers (these rock by the way) I will share the recipe soon.

Drinks: 1.5L water & 600mL Pepsi max

Exercise: Nothing official (I have been go go go all day and am not even home yet – hence the posting from my iPhone)

Bigger post promised tomorrow 😉

Dukan 2.0 – Attack Day 1

Standard

Woohoo! I’m so excited 😀 Ok, maybe not for the scales, which this morning weighed 93.0kg. It’s ok, what counts is what they weigh tomorrow.

Last night, as sleepy as we were, we managed to cook everything we wanted to in preparation for today and tomorrow, so that makes life easier for sure.

I will be doing 6 days of Attack this time around in Dukan v 2.0. (Please note this is just my quirky way of saying it’s my second time around doing the Dukan Diet…not that I am doing the ‘Holiday’ Dukan diet that I have just started to hear about.) This video clip is the first info I have on that ‘version’ of the Diet, and here is a Daily Mail article. What do you think?? I plan on sticking to the original Dukan Diet which I know works for me.

Here’s what I ate on my first day of attack. If you are just starting, you could eat something similar….

Breakfast: Oat Bran Porridge made with 1 1/2 tbsp Oat Bran, Skim Milk and 1/2 tsp Sweetener

Snack: Yoplait ForMe Cheesecake Flavoured Yoghurt

Lunch: 3 small Beef Rissoles, 1 muffin sized quiche & Diet Jelly

Snack: small amount of Beef Jerky

Dinner: Porterhouse steak seasoned with Onion Powder, Garlic Powder & Black Pepper, served with Dijon Mustard….Winning!

Snack: 3 small Beef Rissoles & Diet Jelly

Snack: Yoplait ForMe Yoghurt & Beef Jerky

Drinks: Approx 2L Water & 2 glasses Coke Zero

Exercise: 25 minute walk

All day I have been hungry and thirsty!?! It is very wierd. I remember protein being much more filling last time… So much so that we have eaten all our lunch food for tomorrow and now I have to cook again! >_< Oh well

One more sleep

Standard

I have only one more sleep till I get to start the Dukan Diet 🙂 That is so exciting for me because I can’t wait to see that weight start falling off again.

I was planning on doing some cooking  in preparation today, but unfortunately I haven’t used my time very wisely and will have to do it when I get home tonight after dinner at my parents house. This will definitely be my last supper 😛

Tonight I hope to make some diet jelly, beef rissoles and mini quiches (thanks Charlotte 😛 ) in preparation for the first Attack day. Hopefully I can get it all done, I hate cooking when I’m tired 😦

Shopping ^.^

Standard

Ok, well food shopping 😛 but it was still fun. Today I went to do a BIG shop in preparation for Dukan with my good friend Sarah….we are both starting on Monday, YAY!

We went to Costco in Melbourne, and to our local Coles.

Here’s a rundown of what I got for the Attack Phase….it should last me and my hubby (who’s doing Dukan with me!) at least a week.

Chicken Breast
Steak
Smoked Salmon
Turkey Mince
Sliced Ham
Sliced Turkey
Bacon
Tofu
Crab Sticks
Eggs
Beef Jerky
Fresh Garlic & Ginger
Onions
Green Tea
Lite BabyBel Cheese
Natural Yoghurt
No Fat Milk
Yoplait ForMe Flavoured Yoghurts
Diet Jelly
Spring Water

My goodness it sounds like a lot of food! Oh well, I have a nice and full fridge

I also have a weekly meal planner pad from one of my favourite shops kikki.K and I have planned out our breakfasts/lunches/dinners/snacks for the week. There are so many more delicious recipes that I couldn’t fit in so I can’t wait for week 2! (I love planning and organising 😛 )

I must admit that I have been having a bit of an extended last-supper over the last few days (mostly) enjoying non-Dukan foods >.<

And just a thought to leave you with….

Getting Excited :D

Standard

So I read The Dukan Diet book again (up to the end of the Attack phase) and it’s all coming back to me. You wouldn’t believe how much stuff you forget when you have a lot of new stuff to learn….such as a whole new language and culture >.<

Now that I have refreshed my knowledge starting the Dukan Diet again is sounding a lot less scary than it was a week ago. I was really hesitant to start again when I thought of just eating protein…but it’s really not that scary, in fact, it’s a little exciting.

I swear my body is even excited after I made my decision (my ankles are looking less puffy 😛 )

Since I have been off the diet there has been a !huge! insurgence of DD blogs, websites and forums, which is fantastic for anyone who is on or beginning the diet. I have spent ages yesterday and today clicking around and finding LOTS of delicious recipes that I can’t wait to try. Then again, I’m looking forward to a steak with a little mustard on the side for dinner 🙂

I hopped back on the official Dukan website and re-calculated my goal weight. Some of the figures are different from the first time….such as my starting weight and my goal. Ok, here it is….I currently weigh 92kg. That was hard. I have eaten whatever I want for the past 6 months, and it shows. I am still 7kg down from my heaviest weight, but it also means that I have put back on around 13kg. It is appalling. Please let me be a lesson that you don’t have to learn yourself. If you sound like me, or relate to me in any way, please DON’T STOP the diet until the end (well since it never really ends….just don’t stop at all ^.^ ) I am the typical obese person that Dr. Dukan talks about that can’t survive without the strict structure and constant on-the-ball-ness of the Dukan Diet. But I’m here and I’m open and honest about it.

On a more positive note, phew, let’s talk about my goal 🙂 I entered my goal weight into the survey-thingy as 65kg. I don’t know if that’s possible but it feels more achievable now that I’m starting at a lower weight. The online calculator said that my goal would be 68.9 kg. Here is the run down…..

I don’t plan on joining the coaching as I feel I have received enough support from family and friends (yes that’s you) without spending the extra $$.

I’m planning to start Dukan 2.0 on Monday….exciting!

O….K…. so I’m thinking it’s time…

Standard

It’s been :forever: since I’ve written a post on my blog. So much has happened! Nothing super exciting though 😛

I guess the biggest thing that’s relevant here is that I have not been on the Dukan Diet since before I left Japan….and there’s one thing I want to say to everyone reading this and it’s that if the Dukan Diet is working for you … STAY ON IT!! 😉

I have put weight on (scared to weigh myself amount) since I stopped the diet because I didn’t follow it through the 4 stages, just like Dr. Dukan says. I’ve noticed a big difference in my body…and my face is looking chubby again (I don’t like that >.<)

I started the diet around this time last year, and I think it’s time for a re-start. I want to get skinny again for summer…and forever :D….and I WAS skinny. Size 14 skinny jeans, ahem 😉

I have been really hesitant to do so as I have become totally reliant on carbs again >.< It’s taking the first step that’s hard.

My plan is tomorrow tonight to re-read the Dukan Diet book and get excited again 😀

Wish me luck 😉
